2019 | Nomadic furniture
Technology has set us free to work anywhere and anytime, resulting in a profound change in our total lifestyle. We now live in an era of “modern nomads,” continually moving from one place to another and revising our concept of what and where we call home. We accustom ourselves to possessing minimum material goods and regard everything as temporary. We live for short periods of time in rented houses or apartments, furnished with temporary objects which we leave behind when we depart for our next location.
In this world of “new domesticity,” the role of furniture has also changed.
The Mobilia system was inspired by the traditional external frame backpacks created to give the wearer more support and better weight distribution.
It serves as modular furniture that can fit easily into our fluid lives, serve our basic needs, and can be quickly disassembled in order to move comfortably with us on to our next destination.
